| Based on the theme game I explore in my work the artistic and poetic potential in mathematical structures. The focus is the use of so called Langford's series of numbers. They form the material for extensive and complex, partly serial, sometimes solitary artistic work. Rhythms, overlays and weavings open the look at the clear beauty of mathematics and create a meditative counterpoint to volatility of daily life. The analysis of the logical system of numbers leads to visual structures. The space is divided rhythmically. The mathematical system allows precise statements about the structure. It is important to me that the structure is understandable – but I am not asking the observer to decode the work again. |
